I finished it! It took me about one and a half months to put together my latest clay animation, Sweet Tooth. Usually, a couple of weeks to a month is all it takes, but this one is longer and more complex than I usually make them. There’s something of a story to this one… out of consideration for those who pine for stories lol! It was a heck of a lot of work, but very fun. It took me three nights -- that’s 16 hours -- just to shoot the raw footage (ended up using over 2000 frames). Then, there’s all the post production including sound editing (for every sound, I averaged 10 takes). I almost forgot how much time and effort it takes to create one of these claymations (including all the fixing and nit-picking), so that was my singular focus for the past several weeks.
So, now with this one under my belt, I’m going to take a bit of a breather, and then I’ll start working on my next one. Although I hadn’t made an animation in four years, it is now something I’m looking forward to again.
